Christmas

I had a lot of fun this Christmas, and I got a lot of presents! For example one of my presents is actually the one I'm using right now, it's a laptop. The laptop is actually my sisters and mine, but were both really glad that we got it. I had to lose opening two presents today because yesterday I was being kind of sassy to my mom.

My mom finally told my little brother and sister that Santa Clause isn't real. I thought it was kind of sad that she told them because my brother is only nine years old, and my sister is only eight years old, and is turning nine at twelve o' two in the morning on new years day. I found out early because I was on my way to the bathroom on Christmas eve, and I saw Santa Clause putting presents under the Christmas tree. When he saw me he told me to go back to bed or else I wouldn't get any presents, and I would get coal. I told him I didn't believe him because I noticed that he had the exact same glasses on that my dad wears, but later on I was convinced that Santa Clause was real again.

The first time that my biological mom told me I told her I already knew, and I told her the exact same story. I wonder if my sister Erica still believes in Santa Clause. I remember when I was a little kid I would wish that Santa would let me ride in his sleigh with him. And I would be able to see all of his deer, and have an excellent time. I thought that he might be nice enough to take me for a real quick ride to the North Pole, and back home again.

I got a remote control helicopter, a server thing so that we have Internet on our laptop, knee-high socks, two t-shirts, four tank tops, a pair of pants, a black jacket, and wind chimes. The wind chimes are made out of string, beads, spoons, a fork, and they were all melded together. I got a game called Sorry Sliders, an art thing, more clothes, a heating blanket, nail polish for all the girls to share, a card shuffler for all the family, and a game called monopoly express electronic banking. I also got a hat, and a mirror that say fame on them, and have really cool designs. Our whole family got a game set that had pool, Foosball, ping pong, and much more.

Friends

Do you ever feel like your friends don't like you anymore? I do sometimes, and to my disappointment sometimes I've been right. I've been used before, where my friends just wanted me to be rude to others, and if I didn't I was out of the "popular" group. I've been in the "popular" group only a few times in my life, I know it's not the best group to be in, but I feel loved, and way more happy when I'm in the "popular" group. I also had the knack for being so rude that I would be their leader. Now I know that it was wrong for me to ever be the leader of the "popular" group, or even a member.

I also know that it's easier to tell who's your real friend when your not part of the "popular" group. One of my best friends is India. I met her when I was in the first half of sixth grade. I've known her for a little over three years. We hang out a lot. I remember my mom used to get mad because I used to go over to her house practically every weekend. I loved to go to India's because I got to hang out with my number one best friend, and I got away from the family. I always had fun at India's though. We would watch movies, watch the television, play board games, play card games, or even play video games, but with no limit unlike at my house. Because at my house we have a time limit on how long we can play video games. We can only play for one hour, and our brother can only play for video games for thirty minutes.

The one game that I love to play on is either Wii, the Nintendo DS, and the PSP. I love to play Mario Kart on the Wii. It's so fun. I think it's funner than on the Nintendo DS, because on the Wii you get to do it with a steering wheel. I love to play sonic, car race games, Mario, and much more. I also like to play my brothers Star Wars game.

The other things that we do is have sleep overs, go to the theaters, go to the Clark Planetarium, play Ghost in the grave yard in their back yard. We've gotten each other wet with squirt guns in the summer, and one time we swam in their small pool. We love to play hide and seek in the dark, at night or in the back yard when it's darker because it's harder for people to find you. When ever we play hide and seek I'm usually the last one found. Ghost in the grave yard is similar to hide and seek in the dark. One person counts to thirty, and that persons the ghost, every one else hides, and then you have to run to the porch, get on it, say Ghost in the grave yard, and not get tagged by the ghost. And if you get tagged by the ghost your a ghost with the other person.

Books

In the past I read all of the Harry Potter series. I loved it, but I still favor the books over the movies. I thought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was the best movie, and J.K. Rowling helped make that one, but didn't help make any of the other ones. I love the books better because when you watch the movies they leave a ton of stuff out. I wish that the person that played Dumbledore in the first Harry Potter would've lived so that he could play in all of the other ones. If he had I think that the movies would've been better. In the other movies the person that played Dumbledore was the guy with the long white beard in The Lord of The Rings.

If I became an author I would rather write fiction books, because I find them more interesting. Also their a lot funner to read. If I could I would make other books of Harry Potter to continue the series, for when his kids grow up. Because I think that would be awesome to read a book on Harry's and Ginny's kids growing up, who they marry, whether they marry, who their enemy's are like, who their friend's are, and much much more. I didn't really find it as a surprise that Ginny and Harry got married because in a book they were going out for a little while before breaking up again. I also wasn't surprised that Hermonie and Ron got married, because Hermonie always really had feelings for Ron, and Ron did to, and later on in the seventh book Hermonie and Ron are really in love, and you can tell that they love each other tons.

I started reading Into Thin Air, and I liked the book a lot. At first it was pretty boring, and then it started getting really good. Right now I'm reading The Chosen, and it talks about Jews, and all this other religious stuff. Like Hasidim, and Talmudic.

I want to read a lot more books. If you want to know what some of them are, you check out my shelf. I have tons of books. And I hope to read them all. The ones that I picked out were mostly because I love that kind of a book. I love to read mystery, fantasy, adventure, danger, fiction, and magic.

I think I've read all the Dr. Seuss books, but I'm not sure. If I haven't I would like to though. I like Ten Apples Up On Top. Because it's very funny, and at the end everyone has ten apples on top of their head. I also like Green Eggs and Ham, because at the end the guy loves Green Eggs and Ham from just one taste. And says that he would eat them anywhere. I love Dr. Seuss because their easy to read, their very funny, and their very good if you just want a super quick read. Their also good if your trying to teach a kid how to read, because they have an ABC book, it goes through the whole alphabet, and it says words that start with that letter.

My Birthday

Today's my BIRTHDAY! And I'm really happy that it is. I got a pair of suede brown boots, a shirt that's like a dress, and a lip gloss from my step mom Dorothy and dad. I got a two liter bottle of Root Beer, a regular sized sowing machine, a pair of scissors that cut only fabric, and some other sowing materials from my Grandma Sue. I got a ($20.00) twenty dollar gift card for Barnes and Nobles, from my grandpa who we call pop. I got a two liter bottle of Mountain Dew, a ($10.00) ten dollar bill, a container of mesquite barbecue chips, three packages of spearmint gum, a Magnetix set with seventy pieces, and a purple blanket from my mom and step dad. I also got a new white jacket that's as soft as the purple blanket from Grandma Sue, mom, dad, Kadee, Milaya, Brett, and Kinnan. I told my dad that I think this is the best birthday I've ever had in my life. I got ($15.00) fifteen dollars from my Grandma and Grandpa Worthington. I just hope they get back safely, because they're on a mission in Connecticut, and then their going to Rhode Island. I got some really cool cards, and presents.

Today I set my alarm for ten in the morning, but I turned it off because I thought it was way to early to get up. Later on I woke up around ten forty-three in the morning, and I decided to get up so I could get ready to go to church. I asked my mom if she would bring me to church if I got dressed real quick, and she told me to ask dad (my step dad) and he said yes. So I went and got dressed, did my hair, and all that other stuff. When I was done I asked my mom if I could really quickly open my presents before I had to leave. She said that I could, and we called everyone to tell them that I was opening presents. This Wednesday for young women's were going to play Christmas games instead of doing personal progress. From (8:30 - 11:00 a.m.) eight thirty to eleven in the morning were going to have a breakfast this morning. Later on at (8:30 - 11:00 p.m.) eight thirty to eleven in the night were going to have a dance at the stake center for all young women and young men fourteen and older.

I think that today was my best birthday ever, I just wish that all my family would give me presents. My Aunt Stacey, Uncle Mark, Aunt Becca, Uncle Craig, Aunt Ashley, Uncle Eric, Aunt Julie, Uncle Trent, Aunt Tammy, Uncle Bob, Aunt Katie, Uncle Doug, Uncle Jeff and his wife, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Mike, Uncle Jimmy, Grandma and Pagra, and many more of my relatives either don't know when my birthday is, can't send it, or can't afford it because I have more than (30) thirty cousins.

Over Thanksgiving Vacation

On Wednesday we didn't really do anything that exciting. On Thursday we hung out with family for Thanksgiving, and for our brother's birthday. We celebrated Thanksgiving and my brother's birthday at one of our Aunt Becca's and Uncle Craig's house. We also got to see our Grandma Sue and Grandpa, but to be honest with you we call our Grandpa Pop, I have no idea why we started calling him that, but now he doesn't want us to call him anything else. We also got to see our cousins Ashleigh and Devin. Ashleigh's 16 and is only one year and about three months older than me. I'm older than Devin, even though were in the same grade, because I'm going to turn fifteen in eight days. And his birthday's is the third of May. So I'm one hundred and forty seven days older than him. Or also known as three months and twenty seven days. I had lots of fun because I got to play with Devin and Ashleigh. We were playing hide and seek only because the younger kids talked us into it, and then I was still hiding and Devin freak in never came to find me. He said that is was because everyone said they had quit playing. Even though Milaya one of my sisters said that she was still playing, and then she freak in goes and says she's not. I ate tons of mashed potatoes and some turkey. Of course with brown gravy. I also ate two rolls with butter on them. Later on I had a piece of pumpkin pie, and a piece of my aunt's or uncles homemade Oreo pie. Both of them were delicious. I still like pumpkin pie better though. The Oreo pie was so chocolaty that I couldn't even eat it with out whipped cream, also known as cool whip. I prefer cool whip though. I drank root beer. Ashleigh and one of my other sisters Kadee drank water. Another one of my sisters Kinnan drank Pepsi, and so did Brett. Later on Milaya played a game of chess with Devin, and Devin won. Then I played against Devin, and I won! I'm so glad that I won. After that I played Kadee at a game of chess, and we didn't get to finish because we had to leave to go to our other Grandma and Grandpa's, who we call Grandma and Pagra.

Grandma and Pagra seemed excited to see us, but I'm not sure whether they were really proud to see Milaya, Brett, and I. They seemed super happy to see Kadee and Kinnan though. The most important thing though is that on Thursday even if Grandma and Pagra completely ignore Milayas, Bretts, and my birthday, and give us less presents on christmas, we still had a good day that day.

Today we went to the Aquatic Center. Mom and dad left Kadee, Milaya, Brett, Kinnan, and I all alone. We all had a really fun time. We had to check up on each other every once in a while though. Mom bought us twelve snacks, and we each got two. She also bought us a powerade.

Jobs I want and why I want them/ Miscellaneous

JOBS I WANT AND WHY I WANT THEM
I want to become an Optometrist (eye doctor), a Violinist in the Symphony, something to do with Math and Science, an Artist, an Author, and an Illustrator.

I want to become an Optometrist (eye doctor), because I think that it would be awesome to be able to prescribe people with new glasses or contacts, and do the appointment's, to tell them how their vision is. I want to become a Violinist in the Symphony because I think that would be a really good paying job, also I would want a job where I could play the violin at the same time. I want to become an Artist because I love to draw, and that would also be a job that I could get good money for.
I want to become an Author because I love reading, and I have some idea's to add to some series, but I have to have permission from the authors first. I want to become an Illustrator because I love drawing, and then people could know my work maybe better than they could if I was an artist. Maybe more people would know of my artwork.

I think that it will be good to have degree's for more than one job, because then I have backup in case I get fired, or have to quit, or something just happens where I just can't work at one particular job. I don't think I'll have much trouble getting scholarships, because my Grade Point Average (GPA) is a 3.716, and that's pretty high, even if it's not a 4.0 or also known as straight A's. My goal is to get 3.7's or higher in Junior High, High School, and College. I really want to get scholarships because then I'll be able to afford college easier, because college is so expensive.

This Saturday my brother had a wrestling match at Weber, and guess what all that hard work with my step dad paid off! In the past he got fourth place, third place, and second place, but this time he got FIRST PLACE! I was so proud of him, when they got back home he even came downstairs to our room, and asked whether we knew that he got first place. I was super glad of him.

We celebrated my brother's birthday this weekend. Because it would be hard to have his birthday party on Thanksgiving. Also it would be kind of chaotic. We are going to celebrate his birthday on thanksgiving with the family. Because it's bound to probably be less chaotic with family, than with friends. Plus much less of a mess. I'm also really excited for thanksgiving because we get all the leftovers from the dinner, because we have seven in our family. Plus right now were kind of low on money, so we don't have lot's of food at home, and I mean it. Now my mom won't even buy cereal until we get done with all of the oatmeal, and it's the kind I hate, yuck!

This Weekend # 2/ Miscellaneous

This weekend we went to my brothers wrestling match. It was at Layton High School. My dad woke me up around eight in the morning, and told me and one of my sisters to start getting ready. I was eating breakfast when mom had a different one of my sisters turn off the television because she thought I was taking forever to eat my cereal. One of my sisters said that she wasn't going and neither was another one of my sisters because they were going to get picked up at the house by their mom. They had to come to the wrestling tournament anyways though.

When we got their my brother got weighed, and then we went and got seats because we knew that we were going to be waiting a while until he got called. And we were right. They called kindergarten through second grades first, fifth through ninth grade second, and third and fourth grades last. It took a long time to get over. Most of the time I just wondered around the school. We sat up high because we had seven people so we kind of needed enough room, plus there was tons of room up there, and no one was squished.

I got to meet two of my sisters friends. My mom, her mom, and her biological dad/ my step dad knew the girl that I just met today. She was pretty nice, she had two boys of her own, one of them was only a baby, and the other was there because he wrestled. The other friend was a boy that one of my sisters kept talking about, but I couldn't remember him at all, and I seriously mean at all.

The past times that my brother had wrestled he got fourth place, then third place, and I was pretty confident he would get first place, but he didn't, he ended up getting second instead. Which is still really good. My other two sisters were picked up before my brother got done though. So my mom called mom and told them how he did. My brother only lost first place by one point, and that's really good, also my step dad is teaching him, and he won the state championships when he was in wrestling at Layton High School.

I'm going to write about other stuff now because I still need more to have all my five hundred words. I like the whole A and B day schedule right now because it we get more time to get our homework done, and we get to have an extra day also. Plus if we have that class on Thursday or Friday we have a lot of time to get all of that homework done. My favorite day out of the A and B days is B because I have first lunch. When you have second lunch you feel like your waiting forever, and it gets really frustrating having to wait all the way till one in the afternoon just to be able to eat. It's so stupid.

Goldilocks And The Three Polar Bears

This is a story that I was required to write in science, but now I'm typing it on the computer for my blog, because I couldn't think of anything.

Once upon a time there lived threepolar bears. Papa bear, mama bear, and baby bear. They decided to go on a walk to let their salmon oool down. Only they forgot to shut the door, and left it wide open.

Goldilocks decided to go out fishing for salmon so she could eat something. She lived in a big U-shaped valley, which is where a glacier eroded a V-shaped valley that was made from running water.

She decided to go the long way to get some exercise, to get some fresh air, and to be alone. While she was walking she came across a moraine, which is formed from a glacier that melts, and drops into a deep hole left from the last ice age.

She was starting to get thirsty, and to her surprise she saw a kettle lake. Which is formed when a glacier melts, falls, and crumbles, forming a deep hole, and if it's filled with water it forms a kettle lake.

After the drink of water she felt very refreshed, and decided she would explore, and fish in the kettle lake on her back home. She kept on walking, and found an outwash plain. Which is sediments that were melted from a glacier, and formed deltalike area's called outwash plain's.

She kept journeying, and found a (serk)cirque, which is where a glacier began, but there's a large bowl shaped hole. And she decided she would go around it, explore some more, rest, fish, and then go back home.

As she walked she saw a horn, which is a top of a mountain with several (serks) cirque's, formed close together. So she decided she would climb it, rest, fish, go back home, and tell her parents everything she found.

When she finally reached the top of the horn she forgot her plan, and decided to see if anyone was in the cottage, that she could see, form where she is.

She started going down toward the cottage, and to her surprise she found the door wide open. She knew it was bad manners to just barge into someone else's house so she called out "hello, is anyone there." No one called back o she just walked in.

She didn't want to be rude so she shut the door behind her, and decided that she would just take a rest. And she would tell the people who lived here her story, and why she was in their cottage. Then her stomach growled, reminding her that she was hungry, that she needed to catch some salmon, go back home, cook the salmon, and eat dinner. Ther she saw 3 bowls of salmon just ready to be eaten.

She took a bite of the first bowl of salmon, and yelled "Ow! That's way to hot!" Then she took a bite out of the second bowl, and shrieked "brr...,that's way to cold!" Then she took a bite out of the third bowl of salmon, and exclaimed "mmm..., that's just perfect." And she ate it all up. She was pretty cold, and then she noticed that a fire was still burning in the fireplace. So she sat in the first chair, and yelled "Ouch!" That's way to hard!" Then she sat in the second chair, and cried "tat's way to soft!" Then she sat in the third chair, and exclaimed "Oh..., just perfect!" Then she heard a cracking noise, and she fell on the floor with the chair in pieces.

She was starting to feel tired, and decided to go upstairs. When she got there she saw three beds. She tried the first one, and yelled "Ow! That's way to hard!" Then she tried the second bed, and cried "that's way to soft!" Then she tried the third bed, and exclaimed "aw..., that's perfect!" Then she fell sound asleep.

Papa bear, mama bear, and baby bear walked into thwe cottage. Then they decided to sit down, and eat their salmon. Papa bear yelled "someone's been eating my salmon." "Mine too," exclaimed mama bear. "And someone ate all of mine," cried baby bear.

Then they went into the sitting room, and found out someone had been sitting in their chairs. And to their horror, whoever had been sitting in them had broked baby bear's chair. And baby bear started crying all over again.

Then they went upstairs to take a nap. And they found out that the beds had been slept in. And baby bear started crying for a third time, because the person was still in his bed. Goldilock's woke with a start, and she wa so scared she ran all the way home.

THE END

Dreading Parents/Miscellaneous

Hi It's Kaly again,

My mom feels like I'm grounding myself in my own way, even though I'm not. She thinks that I am because one of my sisters is grounded and isn't ungrounded until the 7th of November. And I keep playing cards, and trouble with her. Trouble is actually a really fun game. Well, today I got really pissed off (p-oed) at my mom because all she kept doing is nagging me to do my blog, and to do tons of other stuff.

Yesterday I had a really good day, I had two appointments that I had to go to though, but they weren't that bad at all. One of my sisters, my mom, and I all went to my first appointment. I also fond out that I weigh ninety-two and a half pounds, I'm five foot one and a half, and my waist is twenty-six inches. My step dad's waist is only four inches bigger than mine, can you believe that! Before my second appointment we went home, and picked up my other three sisters, and my brother. Then we went to the D.I. in Salt Lake City, to look around. We ended up buying two chairs for our kitchen, one of my sisters, and I could do our homework downstairs. We also bought two camping chairs, some clothes for my mom, and a skirt for one of my sisters, but that sister says she isn't ready to start wearing dresses. That sister is a tomboy, just like me, only she is a little bit more, but I am pretty daring most of the time. Before we went to my second appointment we got pizza to eat, and then went to a different area in Salt Lake City to go to my appointment. It was lot's of fun. Later on after my step dad got home, and after I got done doing my other stuff for honors english, all seven of us went out to dinner, that was lot's of fun to.

Here are some reasons why I say I'm more daring than the second oldest sister in the house right now. One time I rode my bike and jumped off ramps with these guys that lived in our neighborhood. I came home with help, because when I jumped off the ramps after they connected them, I ended up doing a somersault flip thing in the air before landing on the street where we were doing jumps. I ended up coming home to get cleaned up with some help though. One of the guys walked my bike into my family's garage for me, and I went inside my house to get cleaned up. The reason why I didn't bring my own bike was because my arms felt like they were broken when I tried to move them, and I was limping because I had hurt my right leg really badly. When my family saw me, they asked what happened and I told them. I asked if my mom would come upstairs to help me clean up, and she did. I also took a bath after I got cleaned up, just to help me calm down because luckily I hadn't broken any bones, but my body hurt really bad. It took about a month for the pain to fully go away.

Another time that I was daring was when I went up into our attic, it was super hot up there though. Only that time two of my sisters were with me, we were weirded out though because their was a rope up their just hanging enough room though to hang a small animal. Another time two of my sisters, and I jumped off our roof onto our trampoline. I was lucky I hadn't broken my neck, because I almost did. When I landed on the trampoline I felt really bad pain in my neck.

From, Kaly the daredevil

P.S. None of my siblings or parents have jumped off ramps on their bikes.

Jealous of Parents

Hi It's Kaly,

I'm doing this blog so that I won't have to do one over the weekend. It gets really annoying having to do them over the weekend and cram it into your schedule. Because sometimes I get really busy over the weekend and totally forget to do my blog, and it just so totally sucks! I sometimes wish I could make all my homework just do itself, and get 100%, and on tests and quiz's, I automatically knew all the answers, and got it totally correct.

Okay the reason why I'm jealous of my parents is because they're going to go to Las Vegas, and we have to stay home. They're leaving early on Sunday, and coming back sometime the Sunday after that. My dads work is paying for all the gas that they use on the way to Las Vegas, and also is paying for their hotel. Their going to be staying at the Golden Nugget. My grandma Sue is going to be staying at the Sahara. My mom has to drop my dad off at work in the morning at the Bologio, and then she'll probably just go back to sleep when she gets back to the Golden Nugget.

I'm also jealous because at the Golden Nugget they have a slide that you can go down, it's circular, it's see through, and it goes right through a shark tank. So while your having fun getting wet on the slide, you can look at the sharks that seem to be surrounding you from all directions/sides. It does stink though because the pool is only open until 6:00 p.m. at night, and that's only because they don't want you swimming, they want you to actually go sight seeing. And when I say they I mean the owners of the strip, popular stores, and stuff like that. Also they want you to go and gamble, visit the strip, visit stores, go eat, and just go do something entertaining, you could even ride one of the rides on the "STRATOSPHERE," like the BIG SHOT, or some other ride. Also the elevators leading to the stratosphere "go up three levels in just one second, and it has one hundred something levels in the whole entire building." When I went to Vegas two years ago with my family, it was the funnest time of my entire life!

When I rode the Big Shot in Las Vegas the only people in our family out of all seven of us that did do it were Kadee, dad, and I. Mom, and Milaya couldv'e done it. Mom said she was to scared, and that if she did it she would probably pea her pants, and my sister Milaya was to scared, and she also never wants to leave moms side, and mom also didn't want to leave Brett and Kinnan all alone with no one there to watch them. Because then they were only both six years old, and turning seven, but if they were left alone then who knows what kind of trouble they would've gotten in. I hope that mom and dad remember to bring back souvenir's, and I also hope that they are good ones this time, because last time they weren't that good, and that's because all they were, were beaded necklaces. For those of you who have been to Las Vegas you know what I'm talking about when I say there's the strip and you look up, and you see a giant television screen, it's so awesome, it's one of the best things that I saw while I was visiting Las Vegas with my family. I had an excellent time in Las Vegas, and so did everyone else in my family. I thought it was cool that we stated in the Sahara in Las Vegas on our way home. It was really fun being able to swim in the pool, and to relax in the hot tub since I was and still am old enough to.

Dreading Homework/ And Dreading Not Being Able To Go To Church

Hi It's Kaly,

I feel like I hate my mom right now, because she's having me get onto Shelfari, Falcon Forum, and Blogger, just to update everything so that I wouldn't be behind, of course I really don't hate her though. She's having me get up at 5:00 A.M. in the morning, just because I didn't start doing this homework until later. I have to get up so that I can do a Geometry quiz that my mom set up for me, and so that I can do a current event for science, and I don't have to do one for Geography, because I have already turned them all in.

Anyways enough with that, I just took a Spanish test, and I'm very confident, but I'm dying to find out the results. I had studied the night before for at least thirty minutes, until I was totally sure that I knew all of the information. I also studied during homeroom. I was actually able to answer two of the extra credit questions, and my step sister who is also in Spanish, but has a different teacher wasn't able to answer any of the extra credit questions.

I probably won't be able to go to church tommorrow. Only because were supposed to go out to eat brunch with Pop who is our Grandpa, but as you can see we call him Pop instead of Grandpa Dave. I really badly want to go to church tommorrow. Mostly because I think that there's a good chance that one of my friend's will be there, and there's been a rumor that she had the swine flu, that she had to get her apendix removed, and I want to ask her whether she is still in quire. I also just got a one time only temple reccemond, and I wanted to tell that to the young woman leaders, also so that they knew I could do baptisms for the dead. This will be my first time ever actually going into the temple, although I could've If I had gotten a reccemond before now. Because you can enter the temple once you become a young man or young women, and you have a temple reccemond. To tell you the truth I was babtized three years after the usual age for baptizing, which if you did the math correctly is at age eleven. My step mom converted from being a christian to a mormon when she was in her thirty's.

Goblin Valley

Hi It's Kaly again,

I forgot to do a post for last week so I figured I might as well do a post about one of my family trips.

Well we were all packed and ready to leave for Goblin Valley on Thursday, because we didn't have school that Thursday or Friday. We had to get up really early in the morning, but of course I couldn't fall back asleep. Because once I wake up for some reason I can't fall back asleep as long as I'm awake enough.

On Friday we got all seven of us in the truck, and left to the gas station to fill uop our water bottles. Only we had forgotten our refrigerated food, and the jack for our trailer. So it was good that we went back to get that stuff. Because if we didn't we wouldnt have any food to eat because we wouldn't be able to get it out of the trailer, because we left the jack at home that goes to the trailer. And then we would've been really screwed.

We had lot's of fun hiking. We hiked Ding and Dang. It was an 8 mile hike all around. First we hiked Ding, the Ding Dang Dome, and then Dang. It was really fun. There was a lot of shimmying that we had to do. I'll have to post the pictures some other time. On Dang my mom went through water that went clear up to her knees, while the rest of us had our legs on one wall, and our arms on another, shimmying across, so that we wouldn't have to cross the water. We are doing hard hikes like that to get ready for the Subway, which is in Zion's National Park. We also did Muddy creek. We had to do shimmying in that one to. My sisters, and I all went through this really narrow thing in the rock, and none of us got stuck. It's a good thing my mom didn't try, no offense against her, it's just that she would've gotten stuck for sure. We only did four miles of Muddy Creek, but we could've done thirteen miles if we had wanted to.

There were lot's of stickers where we camped, so it took us a while to try to clear out some of the stickers around the trailers and trucks tires. When we finally got that done we had already also gotten a lot of the trailer done. The thing that I hate most about doing the trailer is having to do the beds, because of the bars, and sometimes it takes a long time, but other times it doesn't. I also don't like getting the trailer ready for us to use it, or having to pack it up again. Because it becomes a really big pain after awhile.

Around our campsite we had a lot of really cool places that we could hide, and climb on. It was really fun to play on them. Some of the rocks were shaped like faces, and my step dad said that it's said to be where Indians buried there treasure. He scared me and my sister when we were climbing on these rocks, because he came around a bend and started making weird noises. So I'm sure you'll understand why I got scared.

Junkyard

Ok so here I am posting another blog, because I am leaving to go camping to Goblin Valley down in Southern Utah. I'll tell you about the last time that we went down there. It was a nightmare!

Our first night camping went ok, and we were in a very quiet area with nobody else around. The weather was warm and I liked it because I didn't have to wrap myself in my sleeping bag. After I'd gone to sleep it started getting chilly so I had to get back into my sleeping bag. Even though we had a trailer, it was a little cold because we didn't use the heat that night, but not bad.

The next day it started out ok. We woke up, ate breakfast, packed our hip packs for our hike, and got into the truck. After just a few seconds, we noticed that there was trouble. The brake line went out in the truck and it leaked out all the brake fluid. My sister and I ran back to the trailer to get duct tape, to see if my dad would be able to tape the line until we could fix it.

We made it to a gas station in Hanksvile, after riding for about 25 miles without brakes. That was fun. We went really slow and made it. We ended up waiting around all day long for either a part for the truck, or a tow. In the meantime my sister and I climbed up a huge dirt hill because we were bored, and it was hot. My dad tried to get help from some local man that lived in town, but didn't have any luck. The man was really wierd too. He sold beef jerky for a living and was "about to open his 3rd shack". Strange hu?

The end of the day came, and we ended up getting towed to a motel and the truck ended up at a garage. We had to grab all of the food out of the truck and brought it with us. We got a hotel room for 3 nights and were stuck there the entire weekend, instead of hiking and having fun. We did have fun swimming, but it would've been more fun to go hiking and camping.

This Weekend

This weekend we went to the junkyard to look for a window regulator for our truck. We looked for a trailer tire and a spare also, while sitting in the hot sun. Earlier that day, we went to my cousin's birthday party in Lehi. He just turned 5. We played limbo and danced to music. The kids got to hit a pinata and get the candy out of it, of course the oldest went last. We are the harder hitters you see. I actually had an ok time looking for tires for the trailer, but it was probably because I was listening to music on my mp3. So I kinda danced and searched at the same time.
The treats at the party were really good...I saved my tootsie roll for last because it was the best out of all the different candies.

Today at school I found out that I got 25/30 on my geometry quiz. I was so happy. I am in geometry because I passed my algebra over the summer really well. I had one B+ and an A. I hope to continue to do well as the years go on. For my age and grade I consider that to be pretty dang good, but I do like math.

Tonight I remembered to post another blog, and so here I am doing it. I was really busy yesterday doing the junk yard crap and the other usual stuff that I have to do before bed. One of the worst things I have to do before bed is having to wait for the bathroom. I am glad that bedtimes are spread out, but I don't like waiting for the bathroom. We all share one and there's 5 of us. We have 2 bathrooms, but my mom and dad use that one of course. Well that's all for now, hope this is ok to read, and interesting. See you later!

Apostrophe Quiz Part 2

Hi I'm Kaly,

I'm going to tell you a story about the Diamonds family. Crystal Diamond was badly mistreated by her step mom, and step dad. They made a rule saying that she can't ask any quesions about what happened to her family.

One day she got a letter saying that it's time for her to go to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the letter it explained the following:
Gringotts- Wizard/Witch bank
Store: Madam Malkins' Robes for All Occasions
First year students will require:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black with silver fastenings)
Please note that all pupils clothes should carry name tags.
Flourish and Blotts School Books
All students should have a copy of each of the following:
The Standard Book of Spells (Grade One) By Miranda Goshawk
A History of Magic By Bathilda Bagshot
Magical Theory By Adalbert Waffling
A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration By Emeric Switch
One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi By Phyllida Spore
Magical Drafts and Potions By Arsenius Jigger
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them By Newt Scumander
The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection By Quentin Trimble

Other stores: Eeylopes Owl Emporium- buy an owl, cat, rat or toad/ Ollivanders-wands
Apothecany- cauldrons, glass or crystal phials, telescopes, brass scales, potion ingredients, quills, and ink.
Other Equipment:
One wand
One cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
One set glass or crystal phials
One telescope
One set brass scales
Quills, potion ingredients, and ink.
Hogwarts has school owls. Students may also bring an owl OR a cat OR a rat OR a toad. Its school owls are available to anyone, that needs to use them.

Crystal's step parents brought her to London, then left her with her bank key, her letter and her train ticket. When she went into the Leaky Cauldron the sun's rays were dimmed, and it took a while to get used to.

She then went into the first shop she saw because she had to go to the bathroom. She accidentally went into the men's bathroom, and then she went into the women's bathroom. After she was done she went to Gringots' (the bank) and got enough money to last her the entire year. The money's shiny surface was magnificent. At first she had trouble counting the money and giving out the correct amount, because wizard/witch money is very different from muggles (non-magic people) money. She needed other children her age to help her count out the correct amount.

When she had all her school supplies she, bought a Butterbeers at The Three Broomsticks. Butterbeers' taste was great! On the way out she ran into a long lost friend. They talked for awhile then said their good byes. On the way out she noticed that she had Jesses' wand. She thought to herself "I need to remember to call her when I get to school." When she arrived at the train station, she put all her things into a cart including the owl, then she ran straight through platforms nine and ten. She was finally on her way to Hogwarts.

Second entry

Hi it's Kaly again
I just finished adding a bunch of books to my Shelfari, so be sure to check them out. I love Harry Potter and Twilight! I've read all of both series and highly recommend both series. One of my most memorable scenes was when Harry Potter got a snowy owl for his birthday from Hagrid. Harry had never gotten anything this valuable before, so he treasured this owl. He named the owl Hedwig. Hagrid saved Harry's life when he was just an infant, and has been his friend ever since.
In "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the book had cooler and more complicated challenges than the movie, but I did like the movie. In the movie you go to a chess board and have to beat the opponent, but in the book you have to drink a potion that either brings you to safety again, leads you to Voldemort or kills you. It's a lot more challenging in the book, because you have to figure out which potion is the best one... ultimately getting to Voldemort is the best choice so you can figure out where the Sorcerer's stone is before Voldemort does. The Sorcerer's stone is called the "elixer of life"...you are immortal with this. Wouldn't that be great?
Another difference between the book and the movie, is in the book one of the professors at Hogwartz asks the head master whether Harry Potter will have a scar on his forehead forever, and the head master tells him yes. They both have scars from different important events, which makes them important. Later on in the book Harry is misled through the scar on his forehead by a bad character in the book that set him up. He did because he wanted to kill Harry and knew he'd be able to lead Harry into a trap. In the end he does end up in the trap, but makes it out alive thanks to his friends helping him.
I am changing subjects now. I love to write acrosstic poems! It gets my brain thinking, and it also has to make sense to me like the one I entered for in the poem contest. One of my favorite things to write about is my extracurricular activities like roller blading, swimming, and riding my bike. It's sometime really hard to come up with words that start with letters "z", "x" and "q", of course when I have to use them.
I guess that's my entry for this week..hope you like the information I've provided. Have fun and hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks,
Kaly Worthington
